Chinese New Year – 2012

This is the spread I did for myself on Chinese New Year Day – January 01-23-12 using my pride and joy I won on ebay just ten days prior.

The Rohrig Tarot deck – Breathtaking, in your face kind of deck.

As I sit here typing, Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time”  is playing on Pandora… perfect.

The first position of the spread is the middle card. This card represents the Self.

VII Strength – The power of love, which overcomes everything; understanding; tolerance; courage; innovative energy.

Second position is the card to the left of Strength. This card represents the situation I find myself in as I walk into this New Year.

0 The Fool – Someone who can do all or nothing; somebody who wants all or nothing; the carefree person; the joyful person.

Third position is the card to the right of Strength. This card represents the challenges /opportunities (depending on what type of card is drawn) I shall encounter as I walk through this New Year.

Knight of Disks (pentacles/coins- this card is the King Of pentacles/coins in the RWS type decks)

The patriarch; the goal of gaining worldly power; persistance; will; intelligence; pursuing one’s own interests without compromise; spiritual interests after reaching a goal.

To sum it up, I am at a place where I have the courage to truely walk through this year with the vast riches of the purest form of syncronicity with this earth, and nature itself.  Spiritually unencumbered by traditional mundane responses, I walk face foward,  no shrinking back. Earth is my kingdom, nature my throne and the vastness of the skies my sustenance, reminding me that no matter how high I jump, I will always land on my feet and be provided for.

** just a quick flashback of a memory I have (which was triggered by the Strength card) and will never forgot, while walking out of the zoo with my children near our old neighborhood.  The tiger cage was one of the last to see as we walked closer to the exit. I walked up to the cage and as I approached it,  a tiger got up and started walking towards me with his head down. I was at the corner of the cage and he walked up and stood there with his head down. He did not flinch or look up at me and just stood there.  He appeared to be bowing to me. I know this sounds odd hence the fool card but I was overcome with honor at that moment which seemed to last a lifetime. As I began to turn away and leave so did the tiger… in sync as if we were one.  My children and I walked a few steps away and they mentioned the noise coming from the Cicadas in the trees so I say to them , alls you have to do is say shhhh and they will stop, Which they did. The park/zoo sounded like you could hear a pin drop.

No magic , not insanity, just a connection I had come so close to for a long while and then let lay somewhat dormant up until now….
